Restructured service offerings and rebranded from SEOverflow to Inflow in 2012. Started an internal marketing department and launched dozens of content marketing and PR campaigns. Maintained high rankings for search queries like “eCommerce marketing agency”. Built strategic partnerships with key brands like Moz, Shopify, BigCommerce and Oracle. Grew revenue from 1.6 MM in 2012 to 2.8MM in 2016, on course to reach or exceed 2017 goal of 3.1 MM in gross revenue. Named one of Colorado Biz Magazine’s 250 Top Private Companies in Colorado five years running. 2017 was Inflow’s third year on the Inc. 5000 list of the fastest growing private companies in America.
Directed search marketing strategy for a network of a dozen enterprise affiliate websites. Implemented analytics on all sites, including goal and event tracking for all conversion types. Played a major role in the development of overall marketing strategy and implementation for two new sites. Worked with the PR team to obtain and fully leverage hundreds of high-quality links and brand mentions from sources like the New York Times, CBS News, TIME, ABC News, Wall Street Journal, WIRED, Forbes, Kiplinger, Mashable, PCWorld, Fox News, CNN Money and other media outlets. Implemented a successful search marketing strategy for Free Shipping Day, an online shopping holiday responsible for more than $1 billion in online sales (freeshippingday.com). Assisted in due-diligence paperwork and analytics data presentation for the proposed sale of a network of six web properties.
Improved rankings and increased organic search traffic by 263% between 2008 and 2009. Secured and maintained #1 rankings for highly competitive industry keywords (e.g. yoga mats, yoga DVDs, organic bedding…). Developed successful, ongoing SEO strategies for dozens of Gaiam eCommerce, subscription and content web properties. Generated over $2MM in gross revenue from organic search across two main web properties in 2009. Managed two full-time employees, one intern and multiple vendors. Educated marketing team members and decision-makers on SEO best practices, and regularly met with cross-department leaders to develop SEO evangelists in key areas throughout the organization. Developed and presented annual SEO overview to executive team highlighting KPIs from previous year and strategies for upcoming year.
Increased search engine visibility, traffic and leads in competitive markets: Cosmetic surgery, Cosmetic Dentistry, Personal Injury Law. Met monthly with SEO team to provide strategies based on key metrics for each client. Trained new SEO specialists. Was personally responsible for SEO and PPC for nearly 100 clients. Developed time management, efficiency skills and breadth of knowledge.
Worked with developers to bake-in SEO best practices in a way that ensured optimized content at scale. Increased amount of incoming external links from 179 to over 14,500. Contributed to an increase in weekly visits by more than 131,700 (over 400%). Developed the SEO strategy for one of the first user-generated content communities on the web, which was purchased by Yahoo! in 2010.
Oversaw production in Indonesia and distribution in the US while attending university and performing sales in Australia. Built links and trust online to achieve the #1 position for my primary keyword at the time, “organic piercing jewelry”. Corresponded with customers, including Hot Topic, Inc. with over 300 stores in the U.S. Sold to “One Tribe Organics”, a previous customer, in 2004.
